Raspberrystar, leader of StormClan, leaped gracefully on top of a high rock. Looking around the nearly-deserted camp, she began by yowling, "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather here for a few ceremonies!" Waiting a couple heartbeats for her Clan to come, she continued, "Cats of StormClan, my first act as leader is to give two kits their long-overdue ceremonies!"
She took a deep breath before beckoning Jasminekit and Graykit forward with her tail and saying the ceremonial words. "Jasminekit, you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Jasminepaw. I ask MoonClan to watch over you and guide you until you find in your paws the strength and courage of a warrior." Raspberrystar turned to Ravenflight, her deputy, and continued, "Ravenflight, you are ready to take on an apprentice. You had received excellent training from yours truly, and you have shown yourself to be fierce and brave. You will be the mentor of Jasminepaw, and I expect you to pass on all you know to Jasminepaw." She waited for the two to touch noses and leave.
Next, Raspberrystar turned to Graykit, and repeated the words, "Graykit, you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Graypaw. I ask MoonClan to watch over you and guide you until you find in your paws the strength and courage of a warrior." Clearing her throat, the leader of StormClan finished by meowing, "I am ready to take on an apprentice. I will be Graypaw's mentor." She jumped down, and reached her head forward to touch noses with Graypaw.
