Starlight lit the clearing as a black she-cat moved in towards the large rock in the center.
"What will become of the Clans?" Nightstar asked no one in general. She sighed slowly, shaking her head. "MoonClan, give me a sign!"
She leapt onto the rock, her shimmering golden eyes fixed on the stars. She sighed softly, sitting down silently, staring at the sky.
Nightstar waited until the sign came to her. A bright light fizzled out above, a star shooting across the sky. Nightstar gasped, rearing up on her hind paws, shocked by the sign. Images came to her vision, showing her some of the cats that had vanished. She fell off the rock in a sudden loss of balance, letting out a cry of surprise as she hit the ground.
After sitting back up, regaining her balance, Nightstar looked back up. "Thank you MoonClan.... Thank you!"
'But what does this sign mean?'
The black she-cat hefted her small, lithe body back up onto the rock and curled up, closing her glowing eyes. She slowly fell away into the dizzying blackness of sleep, MoonClan greeting her.
