-I am drowning in the darkness-
Paw steps echoed through the forest in the silent morning. The sun was barely peeking through the trees. A figure of a cat made its way through the forest. His eyes that were supposed to be a shape green were dull and lifeless. He was in a shocked silence. His paws were bloodstained. He had a long cut running down a leg, which made his steps uneven and limping. It wasn't deep, so it had stopped bleeding. But the deep cut he had just above his left eye was a problem. It was still flowing from a battle yesterday night. The blood blinded him as it dripped over his eye, but he didn't bother to clean it away. A trail of blood dotted his path.
-The darkness is chasing me-
Born a rogue. Torrent had always lived far away in a small group of cats. His father was the leader. His mother was always so cheerful. His sister was smaller, the one he had to protect. They were probably the happiest family alive. How had it happened?
Torrent had just finished his training, he could hunt and fight skillfully. He was praised for his intelligence. But what intelligence? He had none. He hadn't noticed her change in attitude...He had been so stupid.
-It swallowed everything of mine-
The band of cats had attacked them for the territory. Mai had joined them. His sister was one of them. They had no intention of sparing lives. The leader killed his father. Torrent, in turn, killed him.
In the midst of the fighting, Torrent had to faced his own sister. He couldn't hurt Mai. His mother had jumped in and tackled her off him. But his mother didn't know how to fight. Mai made short work of her.
-But aren't I also the darkness?-
Torrent had let the fury overcome him. It had clouded his brain. Turned him into a beast. A monster full of rage. He had lost control over himself. Mai was dead. His claws were stained with her blood. He had killed her. He had run away from the battle as far as he could. Until he could run no more. He didn't eat. Didn't sleep. He just continued to walk aimlessly.
He was useless. Wasn't she the little sister he had to protect? But he hadn't. He was evil. He had killed his sister because he had lost control of himself. He was afraid of himself.
-But I don't want to be one with the darkness-
Torrent looked up as he stopped. He scented a group of cats. Maybe he could ask to join them. He was a murderer. Did he have the right to join another group of cats? He had no family. He had no one. Maybe he should leave. How was he so sure it wouldn't happen again? He might kill again. He stood in the woods. He was still with indecision.
