Graykit jumped up and clung to the branch. She struggled to get on it but she did. She scrached at the bark and moss. She ripped off some moss as if it were a bird.

What a waste of moss!, Jasminekit thought. She carried her own piece of moss in her jaws, and dropped it at the nursery entrance. "This is the fresh-kill pile.", she declared, placing a paw over the moss.

Jasminekit watched as Graykit dashed after Roseflight. It reminded her of herself and Darkflight, her mother. The light gray kit bowed her head.

Jasminekit eagerly lapped her tongue at the wet moss. Her mouth felt refreshed by the cool water. Then, she took a small mouse, and bit into it, pulling out a piece of meat.
