Pantherkit raced around inside the nursery.she was jumping over other kits and bowling them over."i told you I'm the fastest kit in Rainclan!"she ran in to a wall and bounced off of it with a moaning sound.she fell to the floor with a crash."oahaoah!"she started moaning in pain."mommy!"pantherkit's vision blacked out.

Limefrost "Pantherkit?", Limefrost meowed as she lifted her head off of her paws. Then she noticed Pantherkit's body lying on the ground. "Pantherkit! Are you alright?", the tortoiseshell she-cat asked while licking her kit's pelt. Limefrost picked up Pantherkit by the scruff and carried her to her soft nest. "Oh, Pantherkit...", she meowed softly while continuing to lick the little kit's flank. |

Pantherkit could here and feel her mother,hear her mother and smell her mother but she couldn't see her mother."mother why cant i see you?"she cleared her left eye with her paw.she tried to clean her right eye but she still couldnt see from her right eye."mommy my right eye is blind!"she cried out mournfully.she fell onto her brother with tears streaming down her face.she had knocked Dustkit over.her right had a large scratch from a bramble on it.

Limefrost Limefrost turned to Noisystar. "I don't know- I left for a few seconds to get a mouse, and something happened to Pantherkit! Oh, it's all my fault!", she meowed, her head bowed in shame. The tortoiseshell queen turned back to Pantherkit and licked her kit's ear softly. |

"I'll go get Lionclaw." mewed Noisystar.
Lionclaw: "Here see if you can get him to take these, Limefrost." said Lionclaw as he pushed the poppy seeds to Limefrost. "I'll get some other herbs." meowed Lionclaw as he dash away to get the herbs.

Burying her nose into her kit's fur, the queen murmured, "Pantherkit, what have you done?" As she picked her head up again, Limefrost sighed. This was the first time anything like this had ever happened to one of her kits. It's natural part of life, the tortoiseshell she-cat told herself. |

The tortoiseshell queen licked Pantherkit's ear one last time and whispered, "Sweet dreams, Pantherkit. I hope you can still be a warrior." Then Limefrost started toward the entrance of the medicine cat den, and after looking back once more, the queen padded outside. |
